Oops, so there is still this blog. Well, uhm, as you might have noticed, I’m not posting here anymore. The bit of photoblogging I’m still going to do will land on my main blog just another hack. Will delete this thing here soon, after I transfer a few posts.
Getting published in a photobook. Isn’t that the dream of many photographers? Isn’t that your dream as well? But waiting until a publisher contacts one can be long, frustrating and disenchanting, just as working up the courage to make the contact oneself. Well, not anymore, for here’s your chance.
The project’s goal is to release a book, where every good photographer has a chance to appear in. This is no contest. Everyone who sends in some decent works will be published and everyone will be handled equally.
And there’s more to it. This is a no-cost-no-profit project. Meaning you never have to pay anything for appearing in the book, but will not get any money from it as well. The book itself will be sold at production cost.

In einem Fotobuch abgedruckt zu werden, ist das nicht der Traum vieler Fotografen? Ist das nicht auch dein Traum? Aber abzuwarten bis ein Verleger auf einen aufmerksam wird, kann lange dauern, frustrierend und enttäuschend sein, genauso wie es wäre selbst den Mut aufzubringen, um den Kontakt herzustellen. Nun, nicht mehr, denn hier ist deine Chance.
Ziel des Projektes ist es, ein Buch zu veröffentlichen, in dem jeder gute Fotograf die Chance hat zu erscheinen. Das ist kein Wettbewerb. Jeder der brauchbare Werke abliefert wird veröffentlicht und gleich behandelt wie alle anderen.
Das ist ein no-cost-no-profit Projekt. Was bedeutet, dass niemand dafür zahlen muss, um im Buch zu erscheinen, aber auch niemand Geld dafür bekommen wird. Das Buch selbst wird zu den Herstellungskosten verkauft.

We now get back to our regular broadcast.
This is the campus of the University of Education in Ludwigsburg, Germany, where I work (click to enlarge). Right now we have semester break, so it’s kinda deserted. Of course not as empty as here, I waited till I got some clear shots (panorama stitching and moving objects don’t work well together).
For those who are curious: On the left you see the southern buildings in the background and the ‘Spinne’ (Spider) in the front. The shadow on the lower left corner is cast from the refectory (eat all you can wait). In the middle are the sports and swimming halls. Going right, you see a striking object, the ‘Bildungshammer‘ (Hammer of Education), which is used to beat the knowledge into the students. And on rightmost, you can find the main building. (The architect actually won a price for this… monstrosity.. which also means, one isn’t allowed to change much on the building. Which also means, that some maintenance isn’t easily allowed… like fixing the elevator, which is broken from time to time, ever since I got here… which can be annoying, if you have to get supplies to the upper floors. Ah, never mind my babbling.)
Of course this is not the whole campus. There are half a dozen building you can’t see. But it is the main part, ugly as it seems.
