This is the campus of the University of Education in Ludwigsburg, Germany, where I work (click to enlarge). Right now we have semester break, so it’s kinda deserted. Of course not as empty as here, I waited till I got some clear shots (panorama stitching and moving objects don’t work well together).

For those who are curious: On the left you see the southern buildings in the background and the ‘Spinne’ (Spider) in the front. The shadow on the lower left corner is cast from the refectory (eat all you can wait). In the middle are the sports and swimming halls. Going right, you see a striking object, the ‘Bildungshammer‘ (Hammer of Education), which is used to beat the knowledge into the students. And on rightmost, you can find the main building. (The architect actually won a price for this… monstrosity.. which also means, one isn’t allowed to change much on the building. Which also means, that some maintenance isn’t easily allowed… like fixing the elevator, which is broken from time to time, ever since I got here… which can be annoying, if you have to get supplies to the upper floors. Ah, never mind my babbling.)
Of course this is not the whole campus. There are half a dozen building you can’t see. But it is the main part, ugly as it seems.

Das ist der Campus der Pädagogischen Hochschule Ludwigsburg (wo ich arbeite). Momentan ist vorlesungsfreie Zeit, daher wirkt es etwas verlassen. Natürlich nicht so leer wie auf diesem Bild. Ich habe gewartet, bis ich ein paar freie Bilder machen konnte (Bilder lassen sich schwerer zum Panorama zusammenfügen, wenn bewegte Objekte drin sind).Für die, die es interessiert: Ganz links außen sind die Südgebäude im Hintergrund und vorne die Spinne. Der Schatten in der unteren Ecke stammt von der Mensa. In der Mitte befindet sich die Sport- und Schwimmhalle. Etwas weiter nach rechts steht prominent der Bildungshammer, mit dem das Wissen in die Studierenden geprügelt wird. Und ganz rechts erhebt sich das Hauptgebäude. (Der Architekt hat dafür allen Ernstes einen Preis gewonnen. Deshalb darf man da auch nicht so ohne weiteres etwas verändern. Was zum Beispiel bedeutet, dass der Aufzug, der ständig kaputt ist, nicht ausgetauscht oder anständig saniert werden kann. Nun, entweder ist das der Grund oder die allseits beliebte Leier, dass die Hochschule kein Geld hat. Auf jeden Fall kann es sehr nervig sein, wenn man Materialien in die oberen Stockwerke bringen muss. Ach, ignoriert mein Geschwafel.)
Natürlich ist das nicht der ganze Campus. Da ist noch ein halbes Dutzend Gebäude die man hier nicht sieht. Aber es ist der Hauptbereich, so häßlich es ist.
